Reverse Happy Hour at SER Steak and Spirits

The holiday season is here! As always there is so much to see and do in Dallas, but we are just getting too old for the noisy, crowded bar scene. We wanted a place where we could enjoy our friends that we wanted to catch up and be able to have a conversation without shouting.

One of the most beautiful rooms in Dallas to do this in has to be SER Steak and Spirits located at the top of the Hilton Anatole. And now this gorgeous destination is offering a "reverse happy hour" Thursday through Sunday from 10pm to closing.

Our Lifestylist® decided to check it out last week, and we've been anxiously awaiting tonight to try it out ourselves this week. The food was perfect - sharing sized nibbles that we all tried and passed, wonderful wines, and we really celebrated by trying out a champagne that we've heard a lot of "buzz" about - Beau Joie.

Beau Joie (beautiful joy) is being offered for the first time in Dallas at SER and the Hilton Anatole. It's distinctive copper wrapping looks like a suit of armor, and was designed to help keep the bottle at the proper temperature after being served at your table. This was such a fun find for us, and it's the perfect way to start or end a special evening.

And the live music... WT Greer is at the piano performing. The perfect background music for this elegant spot.

Venisonpalooza Happening at Veritas Wine Bar

Dotty Griffith is one busy lady! Her cookbook The Texas Holiday Cookbook is one of my favorites, and she's been busy doing interviews and appearances all season long. If you would like to say hello to Dotty and pick up an autographed copy of her book stop by Veritas Wine Room Saturday November 22 from 5-7. There will also be free tastings and wine matchings, and HastyBake grill demonstrations by John McClung.

Falling Behind

We have had such great weather for so long I thought I'd welcome the rain - which I did - but now it's great to see blue skies and perfect weather outside my window.

Heading to the Dallas Farmers Market to pick up some goodies to start decorating for the holidays with.

Dia de Los Muertos in Bishop Arts

Fall has arrived in Dallas, and a great way to celebrate the change of weather is to head on down to Bishop Arts today from 6-10pm to enjoy their Dia de Los Muertos celebration.

Also known as "Day of the Dead" this holiday is traditionally celebrated in Mexico and is a day of honoring and celebrating the dead with song, dance, food and of course drinks.

We were fortunate enough to be invited to a dinner at the James Beard House in NYC that was prepared by Chef Joanne Bondy and the Ciudad team, and after that amazing weekend this has become one of my favorite holidays.

See you at Bishop Arts!

Peace Love and Chicken Fried Steak!

It's National Chicken Fried Steak Day and one of our favorite Vivadors is celebrating with this very catchy tune - Peace Love and Chicken Fried Steak. Warning - after you watch this you won't be able to stop singing along.

Let's go celebrate with a big plate of this Texas favorite!

Opening Day at The State Fair of Texas!

It's finally here! That time of year we all can't wait for  - The State Fair of Texas. Hoping this video gets you excited about joining us there again this year - whatever happened to the Fletcher's Corny Dog eating contests?

Photographer Lisa Stewart of Lisa Stewart Photography is known as "Miss Glue A Shoe" and has been the one that everyone else tries to beat in this popular opening day contest. We can't wait to see if she comes home with the blues again this year!

The Les Dames d-Escoffier Dallas Raiser Grazer is Less Than 2 Weeks Away!

Fall is such a fun, busy time to live and play in Dallas. With the weather cooling off a little there are lots of great outdoor events happening, and one that we are very excited about is the annual Les Dames d'Escoffier Dallas Raiser Grazer.

These talented women in the culinary fields put on one of the tastiest events in Dallas every year as well as being one of the best values.

The event will take place on Sunday September 28th at the newly renovated Shed at The Dallas Farmers Market.

For more information and to purchase tickets visit the Les Dames d'Escoffier website.

Living Joyfully: PIRCH Comes to Dallas

It's rare when a store exceeds my expectations and PIRCH managed to do just that. As a Lifestylist® I've been preaching the value of living your life with style, and living in the moment. PIRCH is one of the first companies that truly gets that. They don't sell, they educate, nurture, and let you ask questions instead of telling you what you want or need.

What else is really exciting about PIRCH is the value you 'll receive when you shop there - they call it an "end to end" experience. They handle the ordering, delivery, and installation of each product, plus they'll teach you how to use your new products.

There's so much more, but I want to wait until I get to try out the complete experience with one of my clients - can't wait!

Dallas Designer Michelle Nussbaumer Speaks at Las Vegas Market

The Las Vegas Furniture Market is a must attend event for us every year - we get to see the best of what is new and trending in the world of home design.

We just got back from the Summer show and had the opportunity to attend "Ahead of the Curve"where three internationally known designers visit the showrooms and find their favorite products to share with us.

It was such a delight to have Dallas designer Michelle Nussbaumer on this panel - her wit, insight and great stories gave us all lots to think about. Now we can't wait to go and visit Ceylon et Cie -her store in the Design District to see her work in person (and hopefully hear some more great stories)!

The Trinity River Revel

Dallas is such a great place to live and visit! On June 15th the Trinity River Revel was held, and Dallas became even more of a destination with bike and hike trails, events and vistas that will make you fall in love with Dallas all over again.
