For The Love of Jack Son

There is a reason we are Dallas Dwellers. We love seeing what a strong community Dallas is, and when one of our own has a need we come together and help.

Thanksgiving morning a man who is very dear to the Dallas food, fashion, and arts community had a stroke that left him in ICU for an extended period of time. Like so many he didn't have health insurance, and he has not only had to worry about getting better, he also has to think about how he is going to pay for that life saving care. This is a lesson to all of us.

Jack Son has always been there for so many people, and now it was time for them to step up for him. His "tribe" organized For The Love of Jackson - an amazing event where everyone came together and celebrated this very special man.

We are so glad that he is a fighter, and is getting better every day. We love you Jack Son!

Farmers Market Weekends

We are so happy that not only are our regular farmer's markets open, we even have a new one that is quickly becoming our favorite.

The Dallas Farmers Market has new management, and we've become disillusioned with what they are doing, so we decided to check out some of the other options that as Dallas Dwellers we have.

We started shopping at the Good Local Markets last year, and were thrilled that they added one every Saturday morning in Oak Cliff. The nicest farmers and artisans with fair pricing and a wonderful selection - you have to get there early though because they keep selling out!

Their tag line is "Only Local. All Good." and their mission is to strengthen the local food economy. We will share more soon, but know we'll be eating well having these markets in the neighborhood.

Our mission is to strengthen the local food economy and create awareness of the social, environmental and health benefits of growing and eating local food. With new and continuing programs, Good Local Markets promotes the health of our communities, the health of local businesses and the health of our local food system.

More Star Power in Dallas For USA Film Festival

The USA Film Festival truly is a year round film celebration, and it's amazing the quality of guests and films that they celebrate throughout the year. This week they hosted another sold out screening of the charming new film Florence Foster Jenkins, and Simon Helberg was in attendance to introduce the show.

We are thinking this is going to be a huge hit - everyone who was fortunate enough to be a member of the festival and reserve a seat wasn't disappointed - they loved it! The film also stars Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant, and will be opening on August 12th.

Celebrating National Eggs Benedict Day

Lunch is our favorite meal of the week, and lucky for us there are lots of Dallas destinations to enjoy it at.
Our new favorite is LUCK in Trinity Groves. We have been attending their beer and donut pairings which are really fun, but digging in to their Pastrami Eggs Benedict is what keeps me coming back every chance that I get.
Only available during the weekend during brunch so don't miss your chance today to try this!

Easter In The Park

Easter In The Park is back! Lee Park will again be place to be seen on Easter with spectacular tabletops of brunch goodies that lucky guests will be enjoying, the pooch parade and of course, some of the best people watching in Dallas.

This is the 50th year anniversary of this event that starts at 11am, but get there early to reserve a great place on the grass.

Winnetka Heights Neighbors Take It To The Street

We are so glad that we picked Oak Cliff as the place to become a Dallas Dweller, and even though we don't technically live in Winnetka Heights they let us take part in some of their fun events.

This article in Candy'sDirt.com shares why this is such a great place to live.

Meeting Bravo's Jeff Lewis

Lifestylist Suzanne Felber with Bravo reality star Jeff Lewis
When this Lifestylist heard that reality star Jeff Lewis - the outspoken talented designer on Bravo's hit television shows Flipping Out and and Interior Therapy with Jeff Lewis I was in Buffalo NY working but immediately got on the next plane and headed to Allen, TX. Jeff Lewis in Collin County? It's true. He was the featured star at the Collin County Home & Garden Show, a fact that wasn't very well published but this Dallas Dweller is in the know!

We are now writing for Candy'sDirt.com and you can read about our experience there, but trust us - any chance you have to hear this man share his experiences with design, reality TV and of course The Real Housewives do what you have to do to be there. For the best gossip about the upcoming Real Housewives of Dallas, be sure to subscribe to the Candy'sDirt.com page.

If you are as much of a fan as I am of team Jeff Lewis you are aware of the "Channagate" scandal where he was fired from a styling gig with Living Spaces - a company that I am so happy to say is not in Dallas because I'd be boycotting them. Jeff understands how important his fans are and they are as loyal as you will find anywhere - the fact that #Channagate #firedforwhat and #JusticeforJeff are a great example.

Lifestylist Suzanne Felber with Jeff Edward - reality star of Bravo
's hit He did a brilliant job of using this to promote his brand and it was really interested (and really great business advice) to talk to Gage Edward about handling something like this which many of us who own our own businesses have had to do.

OK Bravo, it's time for a new Flipping out season! Many, many thanks to Lisa Stewart Photography for the great photos!
